What is the East Suffolk Efficiency Grant Scheme?

The East Suffolk Energy Efficiency Grant scheme, part of the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF), is designed to support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in East Suffolk in enhancing their energy efficiency, adopting low-carbon technologies, and improving productivity. 
 
This initiative aligns with the government’s Levelling Up agenda and East Suffolk Council’s commitment to becoming carbon neutral by 2030. It focuses on fostering innovation, energy efficiency, and export growth in the local economy while also supporting decarbonisation efforts.

Essential Funding Information

  • Grant Availability: Grants range between £10,000 and £15,000, aimed at businesses eager to grow and innovate, especially through solar energy installations and related environmental sustainability projects.
  • Funding Criteria: Eligible businesses can apply for grants between £10,000 and £15,000, covering up to 50% of the project costs. These projects should contribute to the business’s move towards net zero emissions or make significant energy efficiency improvements.

Projects Eligible for Funding

The grant covers a wide range of energy-efficient installations and improvements, including but not limited to:

  • Solar Panel Installations: Harness the power of the sun to generate clean, renewable energy for your business operations.
  • Battery Storage Solutions: Store excess solar energy for use during peak demand times or after sunset, enhancing your energy independence.
  • EV Car Charging Stations: Install charging infrastructure to support the growing demand for electric vehicles for both your fleet and your customers.
  • Solar Street Lighting: Improve public spaces and parking areas with energy-efficient lighting that reduces electricity costs and carbon footprint.

Is Your Company Eligible?

The fund is open to small and medium businesses in East Suffolk, including sole traders, limited companies, business partnerships, not-for-profit groups, and social enterprises. It supports various sectors, from wholesale to healthcare. To qualify for physical upgrades or improvements, applicants must own the property or have the landlord apply.
