Service: Commercial Solar Panel Installation for Schools
The Challenge
Broadwater School wanted to take significant steps towards reducing its carbon footprint while also tackling rising energy costs. With large, flat roof space available, the school aimed to integrate a solar PV system that would generate clean, renewable electricity without disrupting day-to-day teaching. A key requirement was to ensure the chosen installation method worked seamlessly with the school’s existing roof structure and offered long-term durability.
The Solution
After assessing the site, our team installed a 69.35 kWp PV system using the Bauder F XL System — a high-quality waterproofing and solar mounting solution designed for flat roofs. This approach eliminated the need for rooftop penetrations, protecting the building’s integrity while ensuring secure panel placement.
The Bauder F XL System is engineered for efficiency, making it ideal for education settings where reliability, minimal maintenance, and safety are priorities. Installation was planned to minimise disruption, with works scheduled around the school timetable.
The Results
The completed system is expected to generate around 65,883 kWh of renewable electricity each year, cutting the school’s carbon footprint by approximately 15.35 tonnes of CO₂ annually.
Key benefits include:
- Lower energy costs: reducing reliance on grid electricity and protecting against rising prices.
- Environmental gains: a measurable step towards the school’s sustainability goals.
- Educational value: providing a live example of renewable energy in action for pupils and staff.
This investment supports Broadwater School’s commitment to environmental responsibility, while delivering a long-term, cost-effective energy solution.
